1. IntroductionWhen former U.S. President Obama called then-Attorney General, Kamala Harris, “the best-looking attorney general in the country” (Abcarian, 2013), he illustrated what many Asian American women (AAW) experience in positions of leadership—their credentials are inconsequential as long as they look attractive. We, the authors, argue behind these expressed microaggressions (Sue et al., 2007) are white emotionalities expressed onto AAW in uniquely raced and gendered ways.
