I continue to wonder why Musk’s goons don’t get bodily removed from more offices. By now, Trumpies are in charge of enough agencies that they can order that computer access be turned over to the invaders, and, as in the takeover of the US Institute of Peace, armed guards play a part. We need to hear more about how the takeovers happen. A whistleblower, Daniel Berulis, has provided information on what happened after the goons took over the computers at the National Labor Relations Board.

I started writing this post early in the week with some cool analysis. Midweek, I said in a Bluesky post that I think Trump is checked out on everything but cheerleading tariffs. I realized that if this is the case, I need to rethink some of my analysis. Today, the wheels are starting (but only starting) to come off. Things have seriously deteriorated for Trump and his people.

The first step. Nayib Bukele supplied some decent clothes and a baseball cap to cover Abrego Garcia’s shaved head, and Van Hollen and Abrego Garcia were able to talk in a hotel. Bukele then felt he had to tweet that Abrego Garcia would be staying in El Salvador. It’s good news that Abrego Garcia is alive. It’s good news that the diplomatic pressure of Van Hollen’s presence and the publicity surrounding his trip made Bukele feel he had to back off, even slightly.

1. Immigrants build our houses, grow our food, care for our children and parents. They own restaurants and pick up our garbage. They do scientific research and they staff our hospitals as doctors and nurses. They work in banks and other financial institutions. Many of them fled untenable situations in their home countries. 2. Immigrants are less likely to commit crimes than citizens. 3. Very few immigrants are members of gangs.

My report this week is spottier than usual. TARIFFS made up a lot of the news anyway, but Musk’s boys are still destroying the government. Some things aren’t going quite as planned. For a variety of reasons, starting with there not being that many Central and South American gang members in the US, the rollout of MASS DEPORTATIONS has been much slower than Stephen Miller and Tom Homan had hoped. That is why they are picking up random people like Kilmar Abrego Garcia and abducting students.
