Rapid advancement of gene therapy has driven a surge in demand for clinical-grade viral vectors. Can the industry meet that demand with manufacturing capacity? Cheryl Scott, Editor in Chief. In publishing, the general rule of thumb is for magazines to undergo a redesign process every five years or so. Longtime BPI subscribers will know that it’s been more than that for us — although our website has been fully refreshed recently. In nearly 30 years of working as an editor covering the biopharmaceutical industry, first with BioPharm and later as cofounder of BioProcess International, I’ve copyedited thousands of articles. From business and regulatory discussions to technical reports and reviews, sponsored “advertorial” pieces, and beyond, I’ve seen it all in relation to the biopharmaceutical industry. Some papers, however, have stuck with me more than others, and one in particular comes to mind often lately.
