    Jerry Giordano opened Giordano's Deli in 1973. He built the strip mall at 774 21st St. in 1975 where the Italian deli is today. The deli has been sold four times in its 52-year history. Girodano's Deli in Vero Beach opened in 1973 as Giordano's Deli, named after founder Gerard "Jerry" Giordano. It was known as Giordano's Deli until 2014, when owner Gizella Bozsik was forced to change the name because of a trademark infringement lawsuit filed against her.

    Girodano's Deli in Vero Beach is expanding and changing its menu — but not its name or signature Italian sub. The 52-year-old Miracle Mile sub shop is expanding into the adjacent storefront, where there will be a new and larger dining area, said Manager Kade Day. There currently are only a few two-top cafe tables. Day said he plans to install a flattop grill to offer more hot sandwiches, and he's focused on getting lunch customers in and out in 5-10 minutes.

The chef-owner plans to open a market and second restaurant with a different concept on A1A. VERO BEACH — As The Tides celebrates its 25th anniversary Friday, the chef-owner is looking toward the future, which will include two moves, an expansion, a market and maybe a second restaurant.

Most of the restaurants in this Southwest Gatlin Boulevard strip mall near Savona Boulevard offer fast-casual food focused on quick meals for pickup or takeout, but some have seating, including outdoors under umbrellas.
