A man wanted for shooting another man in Vicksburg on Sunday turned himself in to police. Demarcus Bishop was wanted for the shooting that happened around 7:30 p.m. near the intersection of Clay Street and Mission 66.The victim was able to drive himself to the hospital for treatment. While at the hospital, he identified Bishop as the person who shot him and said it stems from an ongoing feud over a female. Bishop is in custody as the investigation continues.

HIGHS TOMORROW AFTERNOON WILL RETURN TO THE UPPER A CALL ABOUT A "DOORDASH" DELIVERY THAT DIDN'T MAKE IT TO ITS DESTINATION LED TO A MAN BEING ARRESTED. THE CALL WAS TO MADISON POLICE FROM RETIRED MADISON COUNTY DEPUTY BRAD SULLIVAN. HE MADE HEADLINES IN 2019 WHEN HE WAS SHOT IN THE LINE OF DUTY AND LEFT PARALYZED. HE TOLD OFFICERS HE PLACED A "DOORDASH" ORDER AT "ACADEMY SPORTS" THAT WAS PICKED UP-- BUT LATER SHOWED AS "CANCELLED" IN THE APP.

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is investigating the death of a detainee at the Raymond Detention Center. Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones posted on the social media platform X, formerly Twitter, that 37-year-old Anthony Terrell Johnson was found unresponsive in his cell at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday. The sheriff said he had been assaulted, and the cause of his death is under investigation.Johnson was arrested Sunday by Capitol Police for simple assault and auto theft.

The Rankin County Sheriff’s Department, along with officers from the Jackson Municipal Airport Authority, made a drug arrest at the Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport on Tuesday. Narcotics investigators got information about a passenger on an inbound flight. Once the flight landed, federal and local law enforcement officers conducted a K-9 sweep of packages being off-loaded from a plane.
