MID-MICHIGAN (WNEM) - If you’ve watched any Major League Baseball this year, you may have heard about the torpedo bat, which has gone viral after the Yankees opened the season with 15 home runs in three games. Some of the Bronx Bombers are using this altered bat design, courtesy of Aaron Leanhardt, a former University of Michigan physicist. Leanhardt spoke about the hottest new trend in baseball, and one of his former U of M colleagues spoke to TV5’s Chet Davis about the science behind it.

Sand Lake, NY (WRGB) — The 2024 Paris have technically already started – with sports like rugby and soccer getting a head start but tomorrow is the Opening Ceremonies – marking the official start of the games. Sand Lake’s very own Rudy Winkler is hopping over the pond Thursday for his 3rd Olympic Games. The hammer thrower is one of two Americans who qualified for team U.S.A. – hoping to end a 28-year-old Olympic medal drought for the Red, White and Blue.

"My teacher treated me just like the rest and I ended up graduating the top of my class. Burdick was the only girl in her power sports class at WSWHE BOCES.
