Having reached that grow-or-stagnate point of their musical career, bdrmm have decided to grow. Not that there wasn’t a clearly readable upwards trajectory in the previous works the Hull-based indie-rockers have produced, but even from the first couple tracks their new  full-length effort, Microtonic, can’t help but feel like a full-blown upgrade.

Decius have snuck up on us all, but by now they have become impossible to ignore. Jumping straight to number two in the UK dance charts – it would have easily been deserving of a number one spot – this Vol.

Even so, the core kernel of what Bishopskin is about remains, that deep, almost ancestral summoning of a visceral form of spirituality. “Like a form of speaking in tongues, but not the kind you see in evangelical churches,” Tati agrees: music as universal language. It feels less isolated, too, now that a wave of folk-punk, inspired by that same old spirituality, is sweeping through the UK alternative music scene.

I've not been on here in ages (troubled by the general tone of conversations mostly). This is just to say, I am alive and still writing. Will try to show up/share links a little more often.
