The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has recommended tough penalties for 11 Computer‑Based Test (CBT) centres and their registrants involved in fingerprint irregularities during registration for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). Registrar/Chief Executive of JAMB, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, made this known after a brainstorming session with some critical stakeholders following a meeting with the affected CBT centres and registrants on Tuesday in Abuja.

Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa, has asked students writing the ongoing 2025 Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) by the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) to avoid using short cuts but work hard to excel in life. The Minister stated this while inspecting one of the schools where the CBT is being test-run in Abuja, on Wednesday.

The Federal Government has announced that students at the federal and state technical colleges will hence forth enjoy free tuition fees, feeding and accommodation as part of its efforts to support Technical and Vocational Education and Training Initiative (TVET). The government explained that the package includes a monthly stipend of N22,500 to students in the colleges.
