Newly diagnosed patients with type 2 diabetes took dapagliflozin (DAPA, 10 mg/d) orally for three days. Ficoll density gradient separation (17144002, Cytiva) and red cell lysis solution (BL503B, Biosharp) were used to isolate human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) according to the manufacturers’ protocols. This study was approved by the Ethics Committee of Qilu Hospital of Shangdong University, and all patients provided written informed consent.

Introduction Heart failure (HF) is one of the most prevalent cardiovascular diseases and has emerged as one of the major global clinical and public health challenges due to high rehospitalization rates and mortality.1 It is imperative to develop novel tools to predict the prognosis of critically ill patients with HF. Studies have confirmed the intimate connection between inflammation and nutritional status and the prognosis of patients with HF.

Our study was a single-centre, prospective, echocardiography-based, observational study, which was approved by the Ethics Committee of Qilu Hospital of Shandong University. The study was performed in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki. A total of 394 consecutive patients diagnosed as HFmrEF at Qilu Hospital cardiology department and managed by an established CHF management system between January 2016 to December 2021 were enrolled in our study.

The study adhered to the principles outlined in the Declaration of Helsinki and was approved by the Ethics Review Committee of Qilu Hospital of Shandong University. This retrospective study spanned from September 2020 to December 2023 and involved 573 consecutive patients presenting with CHF at Qilu Hospital of Shandong University.

What is already known on this topicAt present, there is no standard and uniform threshold for QCT diagnosis of hepatic steatosis, and its threshold is based on MRI. Therefore, this study aimed to explore the correlation between LFC and NAFLD and establish a novel threshold of LFC to diagnose NAFLD. This is the first study to report a sigmoidal relationship between LFC and NAFLD with a threshold effect. When LFC was higher than 4.5%, the risk of NAFLD was significantly increased.

In a scenario where the genome wide association study (GWAS) summary data for the exposure variable and the GWAS summary data for the outcome variable are mutually independent, this study employed the TwoSampleMR package in R programming language to conduct a two-sample bidirectional Mendelian randomization analysis. The objective was to investigate the causal association between gut microbiota and endometriosis, with the specific design as shown in Fig. 1.

Figure 1 showed the research design and MR assumptions of this study. This MR analysis mainly consisted of four parts. The first part investigated the causal relationship between the ApoB/ApoA1 ratio and the occurrence of CMD. The second part investigated whether the causal effect of the ApoB/ApoA1 ratio on CMD still exists after excluding the confounding of triglyceride (TG) and remnant cholesterol.
