Cloudy weather gave way Saturday, May 24, 2025, to a sun-splashed Allegany County Fairgrounds as DelFest continued with a Grandstand Stage performance by Asleep at the Wheel, whose roots go back to the early 1970s in Cumberland and Paw Paw, West Virginia. Festival goers also were treated to performances by Railroad Earth and Larkin Poe. The Travelin’ McCourys closed out the main stage entertainment.

A circular display in the center of Sandyvale Memorial Gardens and Conservancy includes 21 flat stones honoring area Civil War veterans, surrounding a cannon and a tall pole flying the U.S. and Pennsylvania flags. One of those flat stones tells passers-by of Andrew Mallatt, a private with the United States Colored Troops during that nation-defining conflict – whose service helped to inspire a new mission at the Cambria County Veterans Museum.
