President Trump kicked off Memorial Day weekend by threatening to impose a 25% tariff on Apple unless it produces its iPhones in the US. "I have long ago informed Tim Cook of Apple that I expect their iPhone’s [sic] that will be sold in the United States of America will be manufactured and built in the United States, not India, or anyplace else," Trump posted on Truth Social. "If that is not the case, a Tariff of at least 25% must be paid by Apple to the US.

President Trump today said he is signing an executive order to keep the ByteDance-owned app alive given that his administration has “made tremendous progress” on an acquisition deal, which “requires more work to ensure all necessary approvals are signed,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
