Early voting is set to open for Sunshine Coast residents this week ahead of the 2025 federal election. Voters are able to cast early ballots from Tuesday, April 22 to Thursday April 24, Saturday April 26, and then from Monday April 28 up to the election on May 3. Most pre-polling booths open between 8am and 9am and close between 5pm to 6pm. There will be no centres open on Anzac Day, April 25. Check out more about making your vote count here .

Sunshine Coast and Noosa residents have been encouraged to prepare their properties ahead of Tropical Cyclone Alfred’s expected landfall later this week. The latest tracking information shows Alfred is expected to turn west on Tuesday afternoon before making landfall between Brisbane and Noosa overnight on Thursday or early Friday. It is expected to intensify to a category two system.
