Two people were killed in an apparent wrong-way, head-on crash involving three cars in Nipomo on Monday, the California Highway Patrol said in a news release. At approximately 6:25 p.m., Fernando Contreras of Santa Maria was driving south on Orchard Road near Cherry Blossom Place. At the same time, Darlene Leticia Scruggs of Nipomo was driving north on Orchard, approaching Contreras, followed by Melchor David Delagarza of Nipomo, the news release said.

The road leading to an 88-year-old San Luis Obispo County bridge will close this summer and fall while crews work to replace the structure, the SLO County Public Works Department said in a news release. The bride set for replacement spans the Jack Creek, near Jack Creek Farms north of Highway 46 in rural Templeton, approximately six miles west of Paso Robles, the Public Works Department said in the release.

Seven new musical acts have been announced for the Vina Robles Amphitheatre and the California Mid-State Fair this summer, adding to the list of performers coming to the two Paso Robles venues. At Vina Robles, reggae icon Ziggy Marley will perform alongside Burning Spear in October, with Michael Franti & Spearhead bringing more reggae in August.
