Chris AllenMinnetrista Nature AreaMany visitors may have noticed some changes to the Nature Area earlier this spring. Some of you may have thought, “What have they done now?” as you hiked through the charred and blackened remains of the tall grass prairie. Well, where there is smoke, there is fire, and that fire was the prescribed burn of our prairie. A prescribed burn is a tool that uses fire to help reset a native prairie habitat and maintain its long-term health.
