I've had the great good fortune to have overseen TED for the last 25 years. It's been exhilarating, and I feel great pride in what TED has become. As the organization moves into its fifth decade and I approach (gulp) 70, I believe the time has come for someone new to take the reins.

I first met today’s guest, Chris Anderson, 20 years ago at a gathering that, at the time, was small and rather unknown. It was called the TED Conference. Chris thought he could turn TED into something big. I thought he was a hopelessly optimistic dreamer. As so often happens, I was wrong. ANDERSON: I certainly felt, okay, I now know what I am going to be doing. There is so much potential here. Welcome to People I (Mostly) Admire, with Steve Levitt.

So appreciative of this talk, @Yoshua_Bengio and of your powerful vision for a sane pathway to the AI future that will help us, not destroy us.

Strongly agree. Even better wd be ability to choose different algorithms. 'Wonder'. 'Kindness'. 'Hilarious'. Etc.

X should have a positivity button. Feed immediately turns into the most mind-blowingly awesome stuff happening all over the world.

Fantastic interview. Kudos, Eric.

I sat down with @BilawalSidhu at @TEDTalks to share why the AI revolution is underhyped. This is the most important development in the last 500-1,000 years. We’re entering a new era, it’s coming fast, and we can't screw it up. Watch here: https://t.co/6JhwSUDxeW
