Tom Ingram trounced the opposition in the British Touring Car Championship qualifying at Oulton Park to clinch a first pole position of the season and with it, bettered his own lap record in the process. The EXCELR8 Motorsport comfortably progressed through Q1 and Q2 and come the Quick Six, the former champion upped the ante by setting a best time of 1:23.856 – a little under half a second faster than he went last year.

Restart Racing’s Chris Smiley lowered the benchmark around Oulton Park even further as four Hyundais occupied the top six in second British Touring Car Championship practice. The Northern Irishman went fastest than Dan Rowbottom had this morning, with his 1:24.288 being just a tenth of a second shy of the existing qualifying lap record.

Dan Rowbottom came out of the blocks flying at Oulton Park to set the pace in the opening British Touring Car Championship practice session of the weekend. The Ford Focus ST driver lodged a best time of 1:24.485 around the Cheshire circuit, just three tenths of a second off the ultimate qualifying lap record. Rowbottom’s pace was reinforced by the 2025 double race winner being joined at the top of the times by his NAPA Racing UK stablemates Ash Sutton and Dan Cammish.
