As I drove away from Cabot Highlands after being one of the first people to walk round its new Old Petty course, two things came to mind.

It’s a summer of spectacular new openings in Scotland. Here are 2,400 words on what to expect from Old Petty at @CabotHighlands by Tom Doak, with Clyde Johnson as lead associate. A snapshot of what I think is that I use the word ‘genius’ in the article. https://t.co/lQUMROvayF https://t.co/FEg97yZKsd

My verdict on the New course at Trump Scotland. In summary, I think they’ve made a very good job of maximising the site - and it might even surpass its older sister. Which I wasn’t expecting to think as I arrived there last week. 2,400 more words here ⬇️ https://t.co/86sBKwAfVn https://t.co/8HrPgoaUVb

First look at @CabotHighlands Old Petty - soft opening in August. Tom Doak-Clyde Johnson design that starts with a crossover hole & darts over a sandy site (once top soil removed) in all directions. 13th & 14th (3rd pic) are visual highs. Great set of par 5s. 🔥rumbling fairways. https://t.co/n4M9S4Dagd
