It looks like our (rather obvious) prediction that Thunderbolts (or rather The New Avengers) would win the weekend box office race was dead-on, but surprisingly, it may be a closer battle than expected. While Deadline reports that Thunderbolts may only drop about 55% week-to-week, with an estimated $35 million total, it’s got some vampires breathing down its neck. Indeed, Sinners, which has turned into a bona fide cultural phenomenon, is going with a stronger-than-expected $27 million weekend.

Despite good reviews and solid word-of-mouth (an A-minus CinemaScore), Thunderbolts had a relatively weak opening for a Marvel movie. In fact, when the final box office stats came in on Sunday night, Thunderbolts ended up posting a softer-than-expected launch, with the final $74 million total actually under what Shang-Chi opened with – and that was a movie that came out during the height of the pandemic.

The summer of 2002 kicked off a whole new era in spy movies, but not in the way Hollywood expected. You see, three spy movies were coming out that year, and only one of them was predicted to be a hit. They were the Ben Affleck Jack Ryan flick, The Sum of All Fears, his pal Matt Damon’s The Bourne Identity, and Vin Diesel’s XXX. In fact, all three of them made money, but The Bourne Identity, a notoriously delayed and troubled production at the time, became a classic.

When I contacted Warner Bros about the hundreds of DVDs that have rotten, they insisted they would replace all affected discs. In the last few weeks I’ve received dozens of complaints from readers saying the studio hasn’t responded in any way. What gives? https://t.co/Lmy6vETRID

Catching up on 1923. Things are never easy for Spencer and Alexandra are they? One calamity after another - almost funny at this point.
