The Hershey Bears signed Capitals prospect goaltender Antoine Keller to a one-year AHL contract on Wednesday afternoon. Keller, selected by the Caps in the seventh round of the 2023 NHL Draft, spent the 2024-25 season with Lausanne HC of Switzerland’s National League. Former New York Rangers assistant coach Dan Muse has been named the new head coach of the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Penguins announced Muse’s hiring on Wednesday afternoon, ending an over-month-long search for their next bench boss after parting ways with Mike Sullivan on April 28. The Capitals relinquished their exclusive rights to draft picks Haakon Hanelt and Brett Hyland after signing neither to an entry-level contract before June 1’s yearly “must sign by” deadline. The two prospects have now become free agents. Hanelt was a 2021 fifth-round pick by the Capitals, and Hyland was a 2023 seventh-round pick.
