With the running game falling apart without Kenneth Walker III in the backfield against the Patriots, Smith was forced to throw 44 times - the second most in his career - and completed 33 passes, good for a 75% completion rate. Given a chance to tie the game with less than 4 minutes remaining, Smith completed four passes for 39 yards en route to setting up a Jason Myers field goal.
