We're only five months into 2025 and what has been a brutal business climate for retailers seems to not be getting better anytime soon. There has been no shortage of bad business headlines since we rang in the new year... Crafters won't be able to run into a Joann store for fabric and other materials much longer. That chain is in the process of closing all of its stores across the country. The days of running into Party City for birthday balloons recently ended.

North Jersey Man Admits to Using Explosive on Chase Bank ATM

A North Jersey man has admitted to using an explosive to damage a Chase Bank ATM in 2022. Last week, 42-year-old Nicolas Torres of Passaic was in Newark federal court and pleaded guilty to one count of using an explosive to damage real property used in interstate commerce. Federal authorities say during the early morning hours of July 5th, 2022, Torres was captured on surveillance video approaching a Chase Bank ATM in Prospect Park, NJ, and igniting an item in front of it.
