    New beginnings Rather than my first post being a bio, I'm going to simply outline the purpose of future posts - besides, my history will become clear enough... soon enough. Witnessing stories, finding the extraordinary from within the everyday, and sharing the learning. Whilst I only took the time to really define my statement of purpose in 2022, it didn't just arrive in an epiphany. I've been filmmaking since 2003.

    Putting my time at WINDOW FILM magazine and PPFMag into words is difficult. So I’ll keep this short and sweet—thank you for welcoming me into your industry two and a half years ago. Today, this segment feels like home. For my last WINDOW FILM magazine blog, the last thing I want to do is to pat myself on the back. I view the editor position as a leadership role in which you serve others by amplifying their voices via storytelling.

    Nicolas Cage is all the rage in 2023. Playing Edward Malus in a 2006 horror film The Wicker Man, Cage screams, “Not the Bees!” during an infamous bee torture scene. I felt a little like Cage when I discovered an estimated 40,000 bees in the siding of my house a few weeks ago (I have photos—don’t worry). Thankfully, the situation is under control. All bees were safely removed from the house, and all is well. But when a family member texted me photos of the infestation, my jaw hit the floor.
