KINSTON, N.C. (WITN) - Lenoir County residents and volunteer fire departments came out to express their concerns about their new property reevaluations and a proposed reduction of their fire tax rate. Some of the county’s fire departments say what the county wants to do to ease tax burdens from those high assessments will hurt them. The county is proposing to decrease taxes to counteract the high property reevaluations. One of those tax decreases includes the fire tax rate.

New allegations added to Drake’s amended defamation lawsuit against Universal Music are “astonishing”, says Universal Music. Especially the new complaint about Kendrick Lamar performing Drake diss track ‘Not Like Us’ at the Super Bowl because, by Drake’s own admission, the allegedly defamatory lyric from Lamar’s record wasn’t included in that performance.

Suffolk Trading Standards has said it is expecting to see “a huge number of ticket scams” as Ed Sheeran plays the Portman Road stadium in Ipswich in July. It follows a BBC investigation that found scammers advertising tickets for the shows on social media, priced at up to £190 each, shortly after they went on pre-sale earlier this week.

WILLIAMSTON, N.C. (WITN) - This weekend is opening night for Martin County Schools’ first middle school theater program. It’s the first time the school system has had a theater program in at least 20 years, we’re told. “Into the Woods Jr.” will have shows on Friday and Saturday at 7:00 pm and on Sunday at 2:00 pm. The performers are from Riverside Middle School in Williamston, and the new theater director says she’s ready to show what they’ve got. “These kids are amazing.
