    As the Portland Hands of Hope Food Pantry prepares to reopen for 2025, the non-profit’s president, Julie Yant, wants to take a moment to reflect on 2024 and what a year it was. According to Yant, the community stepped up even more in 2024 to help reach all of the pantry’s goals as an organization. Hands of Hope served 7,707 families through pantry shopping for a total of 23,961 individuals, an 18.7% increase over 2023.

    Hands of Hope Food Pantry has encountered a new challenge in 2024 as the nonprofit has lost access to the box truck used to pick up the Second Harvest Food Bank orders in Gallatin. The organization is in need of at least a 16 foot box truck with lift gate to use every other Monday for a few hours in the morning. “We need people that have a box truck with a lift gate that would be willing to pick up for us,” said Julie Yant, President of Hands of Hope Food Pantry.
