The election will decide school board positions and millage rates for multiple school districts within the county.     Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders has taken steps toward changing Arkansas’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) by submitting a waiver to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) that would ban soft drinks and candy from the program while adding rotisserie chicken as an eligible item. “President Trump and his administration have put a laser focus on solving America’s chronic disease epidemic and reforming our food stamp program is a great place to start,” said Governor Sanders.

    Mountain Home residents will soon have an opportunity to dispose of large items during the city’s annual Spring Clean event scheduled for April 28th through May 2nd. The city has partnered with Methvin Sanitation and Waste Connections to provide this special collection service exclusively for residents within city limits. According to the announcement, eligible items must be placed curbside by 6:00 a.m. on residents’ regular trash pickup day.
