County officials said Thursday that Pinellas was spared the catastrophic storm surge it was anticipating, but the wind and rain from Hurricane Milton took its toll. Sheriff Bob Gualtieri said there have been no reported deaths as a result of the storm, but many residents have been displaced because of damage from gusts of more than 100 mph and flooding from up to 18 inches of rain in some parts of the county.
