Wednesday is the 21st day since Cory Trice Jr. returned to practice while on injured reserve, which means the Steelers have to make the decision of activating him or having him miss the rest of the year. When a player returns to practice from IR, it opens a 21-day window in which they still technically remain on IR but can practice with the team. Mike Tomlin has accomplished many things throughout his career, but he's never been named Coach of the Year. Not by the Associated Press or Pro Football Writers of America. He may not win it again this year, but he'll certainly be in the running. Part of the reason why is making bold decisions such as replacing Justin Fields with Russell Wilson when his team was 4-2. But a big reason, perhaps the most important of all, is that Tomlin consistently has the respect of his players.
