Alaska Airlines is pushing to transform Seattle into a global gateway with plans for 12 long-haul destinations by 2030. As part of that, the airline has officially launched flights between its hub in Seattle and Tokyo, Japan, which are operated by Hawaiian Airlines. The recent merger between Alaska and Hawaiian has created some unique possibilities for travelers, now including the opportunity to book an Alaska Airlines flight to Japan, despite Alaska Airlines only operating narrow-body aircraft.
