Apple on Tuesday added two devices to its vintage products list, the 2018 Mac mini and the iPhone 6s. Both devices will now receive more limited service and repair support, due to now being considered vintage. The iPhone 6s launched in 2015, but enjoyed a 3 year shelf life, thanks to Apple offering it as a low-cost handset until 2018. The iPhone 6s was powered by Apple’s A9 chip, and it boasted a strengthened aluminum chassis to avoid the iPhone 6 “bendgate” design issues.

Apple’s next Apple Watch activity challenge will take place on Tuesday, April 22 in celebration of Earth Day. Apple Watch owners who complete a workout that lasts for 30 minutes or longer, will unlock an award in the Fitness app. Users will be required to record the activity through the Workout app or any app that saves workout information to the Health app. On April 22, celebrate Earth Day and win this award with any workout of 30 minutes or more.

The US-China tariff wars continue to rage, as China has halted exports of rare earth minerals and magnets, reports Reuters. The move will likely cause shortages of materials for the manufacturing of components in the iPhone and other products outside of Chinese borders. Some observers had expected the war of wills over tariffs between US President Donald Trump and Chinese officials to ease following Trump’s granting of tariff exemptions for select electronic device and semiconductor manufacturers.
