The brothers came through the system at Carrow Road, playing in the FA Youth Cup success in 2013 and then bursting on to the first team scene – first Josh in 2014 and then Jacob in 2016-17. Both moved on for big money, with Jacob currently enjoying the best season of his career at Newcastle United where his form – eight goals and 11 assists - has led to dreams of an England call-up. Brought up in Wembley, the brothers moved to Norfolk when they were young and joined Norwich at under-12 level.

The achievement of making the play-offs meant there were a number of candidates for the honour, but in the end it boiled down to a race between two players … Kyle McFadden and Cody Johnson. It may be a team game, but at times most of the rest were living in their world. For the record, McFadden won the players' player of the year award while Johnson took home the young player, supporters' player and sponsors' player gongs. Downham Town will be hoping to claim promotion from the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division when they host Walsham Le Willows in the play-off final on Sunday (3pm). Dale Stokes’ team have rarely been out of the running at the top of the table, but were pipped at the post by Brantham Athletic for top spot. That left them in third place, but they overcame fourth-placed Ely City in the play-off semi-finals to set up a showdown with Walsham, who beat Fakenham Town in the other semi.
