Weather so nice, we’ll do it twice. Temps today will head back into the mid 70s to lower 80s again today with comfortable amounts of humidity. That provides a very similar feel to the air as yesterday. The difference today will be an increase deck of mid to high level clouds, but overall, it’ll be another very nice late May day. Clouds thicken tonight and we’ll track some showers moving in after midnight. These scattered showers linger into tomorrow morning.

Finally! Some sunshine breaking out and milder air moving in for the end of the long holiday weekend did provide some nice weather for the Memorial Day ceremonies, parades and cookouts. Temps even warmed up to near or above 70 for most spots away from the coast. Today, we’ll step it up another notch and send temps close to 80 inland and just a bit cooler along the immediate coast. Sunshine wins out this morning with partly cloudy skies this afternoon.

No doubt the pattern has been a struggle as of late as temps have barely cracked 60 the last two afternoons. Even with that said, that was much improved vs. the previously several days when we we stuck in the 40s and 50s. Today, we’ll step it up a couple notches. Sure, it’s cool early this morning, but with enough sunshine, we’ll near 70 inland this afternoon and run 60-65 near the coast.

Well that was quiet the nasty late May day. As a nor’easter pushed on through, winds and rain certainly ramped up late yesterday and last evening. A fire hose of moisture, pointed right at our coastline, especially Southeast Mass, dropped a band of 3-6″. The highest totals ran along Plymouth County and the western part of the Cape. Even Boston picked up close to 3.5″ of rain. Inland, the totals were in the 1-3″ range.

Drenching downpours, whipping winds… all in the forecast today as a coastal low develops off the coast, just south of New England, bringing a late Spring Nor’easter to our region. Showers increase coverage area this morning and by midday, most towns and cities experience steady rain. This afternoon, the intensity of the rain picks up with embedded downpours producing big puddles on the roads and some standing water in poor drainage areas.
