After many years of hiatus, and to much surprise, Acer has returned to the wearable tech market with a Samsung Galaxy Ring and Oura Ring 4 rival. The Acer FreeSense Ring was a surprise announcement at Computex 2025, a tech show in Taipei typically focused on laptops and PC gear. Wearable tech like this normally gets leaked in advance, but not in this case.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge has finally arrived, and with it, may well kick off a new trend of super-slim phones. Not that I’m sure anyone has really been asking for it, any change in the smartphone market is welcome to keep things fresh. I quite like the idea of the Galaxy S25 Edge in various ways, but can’t help thinking that Samsung has missed a trick. To put it simply, the Galaxy S25 Edge should have been portless.
