Commuters are facing rush hour chaos this evening after a car smashed though a barrier onto an embankment – where it sits teetering on the edge of tube tracks. Police and fire crews rushed to the scene of the smash in Southfields, south-west London, where services have been suspended on the underground’s District Line. Only one person, a woman, is understood to have been involved in the crash and they are not believed to have suffered any serious injuries.

Four people are feared dead after a knifeman went on a rampage in Sydney before he was shot dead by police. The stabbing happened at Bondi Junction Westfield shopping centre, which into lockdown just before 4pm on Saturday. The knifeman reportedly attacked a mother and her baby, with the child now undergoing surgery in hospital. Multiple other shoppers have been injured in the attack.

TalkTV will be taken off air and move online in the summer, as the announcement comes just weeks after Piers Morgan left his daily show on the channel. Morgan said he was leaving to focus on the Uncensored YouTube channel, saying that daily, fixed TV schedules have been ‘an increasingly unnecessary straitjacket’. The network, which launched in 2022 and has shows hosted by Vanessa Feltz, Jeremy Kyle and Julia Julia Hartley-Brewer, has struggled to attract viewers on its linear platform.
