Will Warren was impressive again for the Yankees in his latest spring training outing, this time handling the Phillies to bring his spring statline to an impressive 1.13 ERA with 11 strikeouts over eight innings of work. One of the Yankees top prospects, the 25-year-old has been turning heads in Tampa, and Chris McMonigle is among the many who have taken notice. In fact, he would like to see the righty in the rotation when the season begins later this month.

The Yankee discourse has ramped up again in the wake of Luis Gil's injury, a high-grade lat strain that will shut him down for the next six weeks. Much of the fanbase has responded to the litany of spring injuries by crushing how the Yanks have been built, and Chris McMonigle has had enough of the criticism surrounding the Bombers overall, especially after winning a pennant last year and reaching the playoffs every year but once since Aaron Judge's first season.

The Yankees were hit with more injuries over the weekend, as Luis Gil underwent an MRI on his tight shoulder and DJ LeMahieu suffered a calf injury in his first taste of spring training action. Many Yankee fans declared that the injury to Gil proved that the Yanks should no longer consider trading Marcus Stroman, who suddenly could find himself in the Opening Day rotation if Gil misses time.

The Jasson Dominguez concern reached another level on Thursday after the promising youngster couldn't come up with a tough play at the wall, his latest struggle with a ball in left field. There have been several instances where the 22-year-old had trouble tracking the ball in left field since the end of last season, but Chris McMonigle says the reaction from the Yankee fanbase has been an "overreaction," as he believes Dominguez and the Yankees will be fine one way or another.

Chris McMonigle has maintained that bringing in Matthew Stafford would be a big mistake by the Giants, as he would much prefer to see New York bring in Aaron Rodgers on the cheap to be a stopgap and mentor for whichever rookie Big Blue chooses to take with the third overall pick. Some fans believe the Rodgers route would result in disaster, much like it did for the Jets.
