(WZTV) — Residents and visitors in the Gulch were left shaken Monday morning after the sound of gunfire echoed through the popular neighborhood, startling many who had just started their day. Wade Flannery, a resident in the area, described his disbelief at how close the incident came to his front door. “I’m just surprised that this happened right beside my house,” Flannery said. Police say Officer Clayton Lewis was grazed in the leg by one of the bullets fired during the exchange.

The discovery comes just months after a deadly school shooting that left the community shaken and demanding change. Metro Police say 18-year-old Kenneth Ivory was stopped at Antioch High School when the system flagged his backpack, where officers later found a stolen gun.
