Dan Da Dan was one of the breakout anime series of 2024. Produced by acclaimed anime studio Science Saru, the series is based on the manga written by Yukinobu Tatsu, serialised in Shonen Jump Plus. The genre-bending supernatural rom-com features duo Momo and Okarun facing off against yokai, ghosts and other supernatural beasties as well as aliens. The series made its debut as a theatrical event, First Encounter, with the first three episodes screening in cinemas.

David Productions are known for the successful manga adaptations JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Fire Force, Cells At Work and Urusei Yatsura. Now it has been announced that they will be releasing their first original anime series Onmyo Kaiten Re:Birth Verse, slated to stream on Crunchyroll from 2nd July. The series is directed and conceived by Hideya Takahashi (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Golden Wind; Urusei Yatsura). It is an original anime written by Fujiko Sakuno, with an original plot by Akuto Sato.

It's been mere months since we saw Aardman Animation's latest release: Wallace and Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl. The double-BAFTA winning feature saw the return of the cheese-loving duo Wallace and Gromit and their nemesis, the evil penguin Feathers McGraw. Now it has been revealed that the stop-motion powerhouse's next film will return to their other big franchise: Shaun The Sheep. Shaun The Sheep: The Beast Of Mossy Bottom is officially in production and is set to release in 2026.

We have written about the animator and filmmaker Tess Martin before. And now she is back as her latest film Still Life with Woman, Tea and Letter will be screening as part of a joint exhibition at the Bouwput Gallery in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The short film is described as a unique still-life in motion. It was created combining multiple traditional stop-motion techniques. It was filmed in a single marathon 9-hour shoot that included time-lapse, replacement animation and pixilation.
