ShareBATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - The four candidates for Baton Rouge Mayor were ready to debate this Wednesday but has been postponed due to weather. Nevertheless, two folks who know a thing or two about politics are weighing on how the race is looking and how record-breaking turnout for a presidential election could have a big impact. Southern University Political Science Professor, Albert Samuels, and former Metro Councilman Darrell Glasper, both see the EBR mayor’s race as a guaranteed runoff.

DONALDSONVILLE, La. (WAFB) - Two candidates are running in the race for mayor of Donaldsonville. Glenn Price (D) is a military veteran who's spent most of his adult life in Houston but has recently returned home to Donaldsonville to bring new leadership to his hometown. He even started a local advocacy group three years ago called the Sunshine Community Group to address the city's problems.

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - On Monday Governor Jeff Landry announced what's called Gumbo 2.0. It's a program aimed at expanding broadband internet access to 140,000 locations statewide using $1.355 billion. It came from Washington out of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act that must be used by the end of this year. The program's first phase gave internet access to nearly 80,000 different locations in Louisiana through a grant we received from the American Rescue Act.
