A Burlington County man who told police his wife was napping when he found her unresponsive was convicted last week of murdering her, authorities said. The investigation of the death of Angammal Babu, 41, began on March 21, 2023, when Medford Township police arrived at the couple’s home. Her 43-year-old husband, Babu Natarajan, had dialed 911 and said his wife was unconscious and that he could not revive her, the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement.

A person traveling through New Jersey while infected with measles earlier this month stopped at a service center on the New Jersey Turnpike, health officials announced Friday. The person, who is not a New Jersey resident, stopped at the Thomas Edison Service Area in Middlesex County on April 5 between 8:15 p.m. and 10:45 p.m., according to a statement from the New Jersey Department of Health.

A Bergen County man who admitted that he distributed child sex images and kept hundreds of files on his laptop was sentenced this week to seven years and two months in prison, federal prosecutors said. A 19-year-old man was fatally shot Tuesday afternoon in Asbury Park, investigators announced Friday. Ah’kim Esdaile, of Asbury Park, was found shot multiple times on Atlantic Avenue shortly before 4:30 p.m. and was rushed to a local hospital for treatment, according to a statement from the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office. Esdaile died from his injuries shortly after arriving at the hospital, authorities said. No other details about the deadly shooting were released by the prosecutor’s office.
