Newark Mayor Ras Baraka was released Friday night after being held following his arrest outside the gates of an immigrant detention facility, according to his campaign spokesman, Kabir Moss. The Jackson Premium Outlets in Ocean County were evacuated Friday afternoon while police investigated a report of an explosive device at the 70-store outdoor shopping center, authorities said. All employees and customers were evacuated around 3:30 p.m. and no injuries have been reported, police said. Police called the evacuation a precaution while the incident is investigated. New Jersey U.S. Rep. Donald Norcross returned home Thursday after being hospitalized and staying briefly at a rehabilitation facility, his office said. Norcross, D-1, developed sepsis due to a gallbladder infection and was being cared for at Cooper University Hospital last month, officials said.
