    An Essex County gang member who admitted ordering others to kill was sentenced Monday to 28 years in prison, authorities said. Jason Franklin, 41, of Newark, pleaded guilty earlier this year for his role in a racketeering conspiracy, according to a statement from the U.S. Attorney’s Office District of New Jersey. Franklin was a member of the Rollin’ 60s Neighborhood Crips gang from at least 2015 through Sept. 22, 2022, the office said.

    A 17-year-old was shot in Roselle Sunday morning but was able to escape on a scooter, authorities said. When police arrived at the scene of the shooting in the area of West 2nd Avenue and Locust Street around 10:30 a.m., they found that the teen had already fled, according to Roselle Police Chief Helder Freire.

    A woman was arrested Friday after she was accused of stabbing a man outside a Wawa in Camden County, authorities said. Kelli Feaster, 35, of Egg Harbor City, was charged with first-degree attempted murder, second-degree aggravated assault and weapons-related offenses, according to a statement from the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office.
