This ranking reflects the total sales agreed (units) between the 1st of January and the 30th of November in both 2024 and 2019, providing a comparative analysis of performance over the last five years.

Christopher WatkinIn 2000, the average value of a UK property was £102,000. At that time, estate agents charged an average fee of 1.8% according to various reports. For example, the Sunday Times Awards in 2006 pegged average fees at 1.6%, and my own experience working for Halifax Property Services in the late 1990s and early 2000s aligns with a typical fee range of 1.6% to 2%. Fast forward to today, and the average fee has dropped to around 1%, as revealed by the most recent EAMasters survey.

YTD 2024, listings are 11% higher compared to 2023 YTD. Percentage of resi sales stock being reduced (monthly): 13% of Resi sales stock was reduced in the last month. 14% last month and long term 5 year average 10.6%.
