Hoedt seized possession just over the halfway line in the 74th minute of Saturday's Championship clash before having the awareness to lob Hull keeper Ryan Allsop in an extraordinary moment of ingenuity. Stoke City have been handed a home tie against Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion in the third round of the FA Cup. Stoke City have announced that goalkeeper Jack Bonham has signed a new contract with the club. Bonham has agreed a one-year extension to his current deal, which will now run until the summer of 2025. The 30-year-old - Stoke's third longest serving player after Tyrese Campbell and Jordan Thompson, has made 49 appearances for the Potters since joining in 2021. That has included 16 clean sheets, three of which have come in the current run of four consecutive shut-outs in the past month.

Nottingham Forest have been named as one of five clubs to have filed a complaint against Everton after allegations that they had breached Premier League financial rules came to light. Everton have now been deducted 10 points by an independent commission after being found to have breached the rules, it was confirmed on Friday. The league referred Everton to the commission in March for an alleged breach of its profitability and sustainability regulations in the period ending in the 2021-22 season.
