After a wet start to April with 5 to 8 inches of rain soaking the state, central Indiana has enjoyed a nine-day streak of dry days. The dry weather has allowed to the floodwaters to recede and now more rain is on the way. So far this year, we’ve had 7 completely dry weekends and 9 weekends with precipitation, and this will be a wet weekend. Gusty southwesterly winds pushed high temperatures into the 80s on Friday.

INDIANAPOLIS — A cold front moved across the state Monday evening and behind the front, we had a cloudy Tuesday with gusty winds and high temperatures 10 degrees below average. Skies will clear this evening and temperatures will tumble into the 30s overnight, and a Frost Advisory has been issued for central Indiana from 3 a.m. to 9 a.m. Wednesday, so plan accordingly if you have any sensitive plants outside. Looking ahead, warmer days are on the horizon.

A cold front moved across the state Monday and ahead of the front scattered showers brought rain to the southern half of the state. Behind the front, cooler air will move in and Tuesday will be the coolest day of the week. Morning temps will dip into the 40s, and we’ll only climb into the mid-50s with mostly cloudy skies in the afternoon. Winds pickup and will gust out of the NW between 30-40 mph.
