A 4-year-old boy in Wisconsin was so upset after his mom ate his ice cream that he called police. The boy called 911 in Racine County last week and asked that his mom be locked up. "My mommy is being bad," the boy told a dispatcher. "Okay, what's going on?" the dispatcher asked. "Come and get my mommy," the boy replied.

Later this month, waiting for a Chicago Transit Authority bus may not take so long. The CTA announced Sunday that it is adding service to eight bus routes, so commuters can catch a bus in 10 minutes or less. The CTA "Frequent Network" service will be added on eight key bus routes between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m. on weekdays, and between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. on weekends, beginning Sunday, March 23.

The Art Institute of Chicago announced Monday that it is returning a 12th-century sculpture to Nepal. The museum said it learned that the sculpture, "Buddha Sheltered by the Serpent King Muchalinda," was stolen from that country. The discovery was made as part of ongoing research by the Art Institute into the provenance of its collections.

New life rings are ready to save lives on the Des Plaines River in Joliet, Illinois, after an intense rescue last summer. Joliet Fire Department Dive Team members on Wednesday morning installed eight life rings along the banks of the river in the city. "We want to ensure that in the event of an emergency, our community has access to the tools they need to assist until first responders arrive," Joliet fire Battalion Chief Jim Batusich said in a news release.

Nearly 1,000 fake IDs confiscated at O'Hare International Airport CHICAGO (CBS) -- U.S. Customs and Border Protection in Chicago announced Wednesday that it confiscated nearly 1,000 fake driver's licenses within just six days recently. Last week, CBP officers at the International Mail Facility at O'Hare found the 984 fake IDs hidden in laptop chargers, plastic mirrors, and necklace or jewelry boxes. They were discovered between Tuesday, Jan. 21, and Sunday, Jan. 26.

CHICAGO (CBS) -- One person is dead, and another was wounded, in a stabbing in a South Loop high-rise apartment building Sunday evening. At 8:50 a.m. Sunday, officers were called to the 1500 block of South Wabash Avenue—where they first found a 50-year-old man with lacerations to his arm and bumps to the head. He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious condition. Police then found a second man, approximately in his 40s, at the same location with stab wounds around his body.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (CBS) -- New video released Monday showed the moment a garbage truck exploded in northwest suburban Arlington Heights. The blast injured two police officers and a firefighters Friday afternoon. They have since recovered. Police said officers and firefighters responded to reports of a garbage truck fire on Derbyshire Avenue just north of Euclid Avenue around 4 p.m. Friday, and as they were arriving on the scene, part of the truck exploded.
