It was a fitting ending to a phenomenal regular season for the Winnipeg Jets. Mark Scheifele scored the winner in overtime to send the fans home happy in a 2-1 victory over the Anaheim Ducks Wednesday night as the Jets finished the season with a franchise-record 116 points. Winnipeg dominated the opening period, peppering Ville Husso with 19 shots but couldn’t find the back of the net. Connor Hellebuyck also turned aside all nine shots he faced in the opening 20 minutes.

The Winnipeg Jets are on the verge of doing something they’ve never done before. Thanks to yet another exemplary performance in a 4-0 win in Dallas Thursday night, the Jets need to pick up just one point in their final three games to clinch the first division title in the history of NHL hockey in Winnipeg. Both teams had a few chances to score during a fast-paced, physical first period before the Jets broke the ice with less than two minutes to go.

Coming off a rough outing in Utah, the Winnipeg Jets needed to bring their best effort to slow down the hottest team in hockey. Mission accomplished. The Jets suffocated the St. Louis Blues Monday night, allowing just 15 shots on goal in a 3-1 win as Winnipeg picked up their 53rd win of the season to set a new franchise record.

It's been very challenging for visiting teams to win in Los Angeles this season, and when you shoot yourself in the foot several times, it certainly doesn't help your cause. The Winnipeg Jets were undone by turnovers Tuesday night in L.A., dropping a 4-1 decision that improved the Kings' impressive home record to 28-4-4 on the season. Not much happened over the first eight minutes of the game but a pair of misplays burned the Jets in a big way near the midway mark of the first.

Coming off an impressive overtime win over the Washington Capitals, would there be a letdown for the Winnipeg Jets Friday against New Jersey. Not a chance. The Jets wasted no time putting to bed any worry of a letdown, scoring twice in the opening two minutes en route to a 4-0 win that moved them in front of the Capitals for first in the NHL standings. The first goal came from Alex Iafallo just 58 seconds into the contest.

I don't think it's hyperbolic to say that this 4-0 win in Dallas is the biggest regular season win in Winnipeg Jets history. A dominant performance to put them on the brink of the first division title in the HISTORY of NHL hockey in this city. Simply phenomenal. #NHLJets

Sold out crowd, playoff clincher, Ovechkin scores, fantastic Ehlers OT winner, what a game. Electric! #NHLJets
