When you use a VPN, you expect software that you can trust. Unfortunately, it isn't always as straightforward as that. Although the term "VPN" might give you peace of mind as you connect to the internet, not all VPN services are what they claim, with some of them secretly being based in China. If you know anything about international privacy laws, that will be a pretty shocking revelation.

The Turrican 128k fan-produced port for Amstrad CPC 6128 (and emulators) looks amazing. Retro remake specialist Ben Yoris has unveiled yet another reworking of a classic game: Turrican for the Amstrad. Of course, the original game was published on the Amstrad CPC 464, but this version is for the larger-specced CPC 6128, which had 128k of RAM. I spotted this shared on Indie Retro News, and was immediately intrigued, already knowing that the Amstrad already had a version of Turrican.

Playing old PC games with an emulator on a PC seems wrong to me. There is a direct lineage from the classic IBM PC to the modern systems, so why is an MS-DOS emulator required?

Clear River Games have confirmed Rushing Beat X: Return of Brawl Brothers, with the first global demo launched during Steam Next Fest, which took place from June 9 through June 16. If the visuals look familiar, there is a very good reason for that. In the west, Rushing Beat is better known as Rival Turf, a series that first appeared on the SNES back in 1992. It has since been re-released several times, most recently on Nintendo Switch.

I couldn’t make this up if I tried: a group of European activists pulled a “Greta Thunberg goes to Cairo” move, demanding that Egyptians break the Gaza siege. The Egyptian crowd responded... by breaking them instead. 💀 Now they’re in custody, passports confiscated, and under https://t.co/dvhYzpTnAr
