Floating Points, Kamasi Washington and Bonobo have released new soundtrack albums made for Adult Swim anime series Lazarus. Each artist was tasked with producing a full-length score for Shinichirō Watanabe’s show, with Washington also contributing the opening theme, ‘Vortex’. His soundtrack explores expansive jazz music, while Floating Points combines electronic music with elements of jazz. Finally, Bonobo’s score explores dreamy electronic music.

Patti Smith is releasing a new memoir, titled Bread Of Angels. Building on her two previous such books – 2010’s Just Kids and 2015’s M Train – the new book is set to explore Smith’s childhood in working class Philadelphia and South Jersey, her marriage to guitarist Fred “Sonic” Smith of MC5, and their move to Michigan to raise a family together, among other subjects. A rare Yamaha GX-1 synth once owned by Aphex Twin has been placed up for auction. The item is one of only 100 models made and is currently listed by auction site VEMIA for £99,500. Aphex Twin, real name Richard D. James, purchased the item from British producer Mickie Most and named a 2007 track under his The Tuss alias, ‘GX-1 Solo’, after the synth.

Brian Eno has teamed up with composer Beatie Wolfe for two new collaborative albums, titled Luminal and Lateral. The LPs were recorded “sporadically” throughout 2024 and explore the connection between “art and feelings”, according to a press release. The two artists first connected after both being involved in a talk on the topic of ‘Art and Climate’ at SXSW. Luminal collects vocal and experimental work that the two artists recorded together, while Lateral focuses on ambient material.
