A €500,000 grant has been shared out between 33 music venues in Ireland. The newly launched Grassroots Music Venues Support Scheme is a government initiative designed to ensure that small, established music venues can continue to operate and showcase the talent of emerging artists across Ireland. Among the beneficiaries of the first round of grants were Dublin venues such as Wigwam, Yamamori Tengu and The Bernard Shaw, as well as Cork spaces Dali and Connollys Of Leap.

Shapednoise has a new album on the way. Titled Absurd Matter 2, the 10-track record follows 2023’s Absurd Matter, and features contributions from rappers such as Armand Hammer (the project of billy woods and ELUCID), Fatboi Sharif and ICECOLDBISHOP. Slikback and Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith are also listed among the featured artists. Loraine James and Moor Mother appear on the album’s lead track, ‘I Saw The Light’, which you can listen to below.

Vienna-based composer and producer Dino Spiluttini, one of the artists featured on the 2024/25 SHAPE+ roster, has released a new EP, titled Eros. Following on from releases for labels such as Editions Mego and Umor Rex, the six-track record explores the concept of rave brutalism, applying such an idea to the composition of minimalist club music.

SOPHIE’s 2015 record PRODUCT has been reissued to mark its 10th anniversary. Out now, the updated release features the project’s original nine tracks, such as classics like ‘BIPP’, ‘LEMONADE’ and ‘HARD’, as well as two added bonus cuts. The first of these is ‘OOH’, which is described in a press release as one of SOPHIE’s earliest productions that went through several iterations since it first emerged in 2011.

Four Tet has released a new song, ‘Into Dust (Still Falling)’. Containing a sample of Mazzy Star’s 1993 track ‘Into Dust’, the new track has long been a fixture of the artist’s DJ sets and its release has become highly anticipated by fans as a result. It’s been released both digitally and on 12-inch vinyl. You can listen to the song below.
