1 Introduction The terrestrial biosphere plays a significant role in mitigating the impact of anthropogenic CO2 emissions, sequestering approximately 25% of these emissions through photosynthesis (Friedlingstein et al., 2022). Furthermore, it contributes to atmospheric moisture dynamics by returning around 40% of total land precipitation to the atmosphere through transpiration (Schlesinger & Jasechko, 2014).
