WALLINGFORD - Most Holy Trinity Parish's 55th annual Bazaar kicks off this week in the heart of Wallingford 's downtown. The festival takes place on the church grounds at 84 N. Colony Street, located just off Route 5 beginning June 3. It runs from 6-10 p.m on weekdays, with extended hours of 2 to 10 p.m. on the final day, Saturday. The bazaar is the church's largest fundraiser and hosts a number of rides and stalls with a variety of hand-made meals and snacks.

WALLINGFORD - The Wallingford town budget has passed without mayoral veto, raising residential taxes for the 2025-26 fiscal year by just over 10%. With the edits to Mayor Vincent Cervoni's original proposal, which called for a 19% increase to residential taxes, brought it down by $3.1 million - bringing the new budget total to $204 million. WALLINGFORD - Nearly a year after the idea to renovate the town's pool was resurrected, the town council has voted to move forward with a plan that could see it reopen in July of next year. In a recent 6-2 vote, the council voted to proceed with drafting a bond proposal to Banton Construction. The New Haven-based firm originally bid to take on the renovation of the pool in 2020. It bid again and made the lowest offer of $9.3 million.

NORWICH — The Roman Catholic Diocese of Norwich has emerged from bankruptcy after a reorganization plan, including a $31 million settlement fund for the sexual abuse victims, was approved in the United States Bankruptcy Court Wednesday. The organization filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2021 after having faced upwards of 60 sexual abuse lawsuits, largely regarding allegations of sex abuse of dozens of boys at the Mount Saint John School who attended in the 1990s.
