Teach Them to Lead.”The program is intentionally raising up students to be leaders in the church. It’s also teaching them to make disciples. On July 1, the Knoxville, Tenn.-based university sold its 40-acre campus in Kissimmee, Fla. – originally owned by Florida Christian College – to the local county government there. The purchase price was $28 million. It marks the end of Johnson University’s decade-long ownership of the campus, which it acquired in 2013 when Florida Christian College fell on hard times.

By Chris Moon One year ago, Metamora Church of Christ decided to shut its doors. The church had seen its congregation dwindle to just a handful of members in its rural Indiana town of about 200 residents. The church didn’t have the resources to cover the cost of its building. It was a stretch to pay the insurance and to keep the propane tank full. And the lawn still needed to be mowed. Founded in 1841, time finally had run out on Metamora Church of Christ.
