Mark Sauer may have been most widely known for his work in professional sports, but his impact was felt closer to home here in Delray Beach for hundreds of students. Affectionately known as “Coach Mark,” Sauer died on May 22 at the age of 78. He is remembered by his wife of 18 years, Donna Sandberg, and son Alex, and a slew of grandchildren, siblings, stepchildren and other loved ones.

Bob Ganger, Advocate for Preservation and Delray History, Dies at 89

Bob Ganger died at the age of 89, leaving behind a legacy of decades of advocacy and passion for Delray Beach and Gulf Stream’s history and preservation. According to The Coastal Star, he died at home, one he lovingly restored and saved from demolition, on April 25. Ganger grew up in the New York City suburbs and attended Yale and Harvard Universities. He was a member of the U.S. Air Force Reserves from 1959-65 and had a career as a corporate executive and business consultant.

The university opened the doors to the Alan B. and Charna Larkin American Presidential Study, located at the S.E. Wimberly Library. The exhibit is a showcase of the late Alan B.
