FLINT, Mich. (WJRT) - Flint residents gathered for the second annual "Silence the Violence" walk Saturday afternoon, honoring those lost to gun violence. Community members were encouraged to wear orange or memorial shirts honoring their loved ones. Participants started at the Sylvester Broome Building and concluded at Dewey Park on Saginaw Street. Actor Hill Harper was the keynote speaker.

ST. LOUIS, Mich. (WJRT) - A new bronze battlefield cross statue was unveiled Sunday in Gratiot County to honor Army Private First Class Richard "Ricky" H. Rosas, who was killed in action in Fallujah, Iraq, on May 25, 2004. Family, friends and community members unveiled the statue Sunday next to the Civil War memorial in St. Louis on the 21st anniversary of his death.

MIDLAND, Mich. (WJRT) - Midland police are investigating an armed robbery at Check Into Cash on South Saginaw Road. Officers responded to a holdup alarm at the business around 4:20 p.m. Saturday. While police were en route to the business, an employee called 911 to report the robbery. The employee told police that two masked men had entered the store, brandished firearms and demanded money. The suspects were described as males with one having a heavier build and the other a skinny build.
